How to apply?
If you are a student and want to take on the road safety challenge with us you can apply to participate in "ShLOW!". Students from all disciplines (transport engineers/environmental scientists/ political scientists/marketing/psychology etc.) and all levels of study (undergraduate/postgraduate/PhD) are welcome to apply because all fields of research are relevant for road safety, and because reducing excessive and illegal speeds on our roads concerns us all.
If you are selected to take part in ETSC' Speed Management Camp in Brussels you will receive free training from some of the best experts and road safety professionals across Europe. The Camp will be held in April 2009 (date to be announced soon). It will also be an opportunity for you to discuss with us the speed management activity that you would like to carry in your home country and get expert advice from us.
Two criteria will be very important for us to select students:
-Your motivation: "ShLOW!" is about taking action on the ground to reduce road casualties. This means that we need the most motivated students, who really want to take on this challenge with us. When applying tell us a little something on why you really want to be part of this project. Whether you think that "ShLOW!" is a good career opportunity for you or whether you have friends or relatives who have been involved in a car crash, every piece of information is valuable for us.
-Your idea of a Speed Management activity you would like to run: once you are selected to take part in this project you will commit to carry a Speed Management activity in your home country with our help. If you have an idea at this stage of what it is you would like to work on please let us know in your application.
